My name is Poe. I am a 29 year old, healthy, fairly intelligent, happily married man who has been formerly trained in the art of "Circular Reasoning." Some may call it playing devil's advocate, but to me - that's just arguing a position from the opposite view that you yourself believe or agree with. Circular reasoning, as read in the "Poe Dictionary," is the art or act of changing a person's view or perception without actually changing their mind. Sounds complicated, I know - but stick around and you will see what I mean.

What Would We Do Wednesdays

Today's question comes from Mr. Fabulous: Is it okay to keep secrets from your spouse?

This is a very good question, on the surface it has a very easy answer... No - But that would depend on the individual's definition of "secret."

Is a surprise a secret? I'm not talking about "Surprise!!! I have another family in Texas!!" I'm talking about a surprise birthday party or a surprise date night. Those are more fun if kept secret until the time, but I think that is the heart of the matter. I think there is nothing wrong with keeping a secret, IF there is a predetermined time and place that the secret will be revealed to and enjoyed by the person who didn't know.

The bottom line: Openness and honesty are the best policies.
